A true friend for 65 years. No matter what the practical or technical problem Morris could solve it and always with patience and humour. He really was one of the cleverest people I’ve ever known: others have described him as a genius and a gentleman and I totally agree. Saturdays and school holidays we usually spent together with many adventures and misdemeanours! From a cross bow made from a cart spring so powerful that we could only draw it back with a winch, to motor bikes on the field at the back of Rhos Bach, to lethal ancient mains radios in Caerwys, it’s truly amazing how we survived to tell the tale. Every time I look at pictures of the amazing Astura I remember where the doors came from (a Triumph Renown) and how Morris lost a front tooth when we were sledge hammering an old piano frame next to the Renown to make space for another project. His mother wasn’t too impressed as he and I set off for Holywell Cottage Hospital! I’ll always treasure the times we spent together and because of distance the lengthy phone conversations where we’d immediately pick up as though time had not intervened. Rest in peace my friend.

Morris was a true gentleman. A person who always had time for a chat and intersted in whatever project you may have been involved in. We always used to have chuckle to ourselves on a Friday afternoon as we seemed to be the last two members of the staff reamining at Bersham Road Campus and the caretaker asking us if we had a home to go to.
